HOOVER, Ala. – Oklahoma edged third-ranked Georgia 3-2 to eliminate the Bulldogs in the second round of the SEC Tournament Wednesday in front of a crowd of 11,117 at the Hoover Met. Georgia (42-15) returns home and will prepare for the NCAA Tournament. The 16 host sites will be announced Sunday evening, May 25 by the NCAA while the field of 64 and the top 16 seeds will be announced Monday, May 26 at noon on ESPNU.

ATHENS, Ga. — The University of Georgia and head baseball coach Wes Johnson have agreed to a contract extension through 2031 with an increased compensation package,  Director of Athletics Josh Brooks announced Wednesday.  "We are excited to announce a contract extension for Wes, Angie and their family," said Brooks. "It has been incredible watching our baseball program thrive over the past two seasons. Wes is without a doubt one of the elite head baseball coaches in the country, and his commitment to winning at the highest levels is surpassed only by his dedication to making everyone around him better each and every day. We are excited about the future under his leadership."

ATHENS, Ga. ----- University of Georgia junior Kolby Branch is among the nation's top 30 shortstops who have been named semifinalists for the 2025 Brooks Wallace Award, it was announced by the College Baseball Foundation on Wednesday. The award, which began in 2004 and went to the nation's top shortstop starting in 2009, is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace. He played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace died of leukemia at the age of 27. Branch has started all 56 games for the third-ranked Bulldogs to go with a .300 batting average, 13 home runs and 39 RBI. He is fielding .979 in 187 total chances. Also, he has had 17 multi-hit games, 10 multi-RBI games and a 21-game on base streak. Nine of his 13 home runs came in SEC action.
