Dawgs wasted our only pitcher with Curley having some control issues. Offense looked more like Larry & Moe.
Aggies junior lefty Justin Lamkin set a career-high with 15 strikeouts and limited Georgia to three hits with no walks in throwing a complete game shutout as Texas A&M evened the series. Lamkin (4-7) threw 121 pitches. Georgia was shut out for just the second time this season and first time at home since May 8, 2022 against Vanderbilt.
Gavin Kash drove in five runs for Texas A&M. He blasted a three-run homer to center field to go ahead 3-0 in the third. Brian Curley (4-3) had control problems early, walking four batters for the second straight game. He walked the bases loaded in the second but escaped with a strikeout.
Curley allowed 4 hits and struck out eight over five innings. Bear Harrison added a solo home run to right field off Matthew Hoskins (three earned run in 2 2/3 innings) in the eighth. Kash brought home two more runs with a single in the ninth off Paul Farley.
Two of Georgia’s top players, Robbie Burnett and Ryland Zaborowski, were STILL out due to injuries.
Need to whip the Yell Leaders today.
Note: Yell Leaders are a group of Texas A&M University students who lead the Aggie fans in cheers and yells during athletic events and other school functions. The team consists of five students: three seniors and two juniors, who are elected annually by the student body. Their primary role is to entertain and energize the crowd, embodying the spirit of Aggieland.
