All sports are now in the "everybody gets a trophy" mindset. MLB jumped the shark when they expanded their playoffs. 12 teams now make the postseason, that is 40% of the teams in MLB. It used to be 4. The NFL playoffs are pretty much every team with a winning record. The NBA is a complete joke, I think almost every team makes their playoffs, they have had teams with 50 losses make the playoffs. Now, college wants to expand the CFP to 24 teams, what a joke.

I know it's all about money, but making the playoffs used to mean something. Now, it is nothing more than starting a second, shorter, season.

There have been huge complaints about the amount of time off hurting the 2 teams in each league that get a bye.  Braves got bit by this twice.  They are trying to get to the next round ASAP.  The last two WC teams don't even get a home game because they nixed the travel day in the first round. in interest of time
