As we enter conference play, rotations will tighten. That played out in practice yesterday.
Starting with the OL, Jah Jackson was the swingman yesterday. Ekene Ogboko also got reps with the 1s. Based on that, it would indicate Jackson is up first. Gaston would kick inside to G and after the second series, anticipate rotation to keep the guys fresh. As a reminder, if an injury occurs, it’s the best five. I don’t know why or what happened, but Malachi Tolliver has reclaimed his spot as the #2 C. I have not heard about an issue with Cortez Smith, but, Tolliver is in front of him again.
Pass catchers: At WR our go to guys haven’t changed. Starters + Taylor, Dandridge, Roldan are the go to guys. Would still anticipate others playing, # of reps likely depending on the flow of the game. Lawson Luckie has gotten a lot more burn and Ethan Barbour lined up in the backfield frequently yesterday. Look for that on Saturday.
On DL: Hanne, Horton, & Ogboko got a lot of reps yesterday behind the starters. Sone will remain as a guy deployed in pass rushing situations from the interior. We’re deep up front, so many will play, but those 7 will be leaned on. Chase Linton worked off to the side again yesterday. Barring an unforeseen turn of events, I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t travel. He is close, but it’s a long season and the way he’s been handled is progress imo. Think we see him next week. Khamari Brooks continues to rep with the 2s behind Q. Johnson. Isiah Gibson also got reps with 2s and 3s splitting time with JJA at end.
On DB, anticipate no change in starters. Dinkins is the swing S right now, repping both spots with the backups. Todd Robinson is also getting burn along with Riddle. Ty Green also worked off to the side yesterday. Don’t expect to see him this weekend and also wouldn’t be shocked if he didn’t travel.
Very physical practice yesterday; I understand the training room was busy…one note, Chris Cole actually pulled from a rep set to allow the offense to execute a certain play. He was so disruptive they pulled him
