UGASports and DawgsHQ are merging into one super site. The two Georgia market leaders will now be combined under one roof. All the scoop, breaking news, analysis, opinions, and in-depth reporting will now be available in one spot.
Rusty Mansell, Jake Rowe, and Jeremy Johnson are joining the UGASports staff. They will spend their days on The DawgVent and the Vault message boards, dropping scoop and answering questions. Anthony Dasher, Jed May, and Harrison Reno will round out the staff. Radi Nabulsi will remain as publisher.
This merger will make UGASports the second-biggest fan site in the On3 network, just behind Warchant.
Shannon Terry, the Founder and CEO of On3 and Rivals, was there at the beginning of both sites.
“Merging UGASports and DawgsHQ is a major win for Georgia fans and the college sports media industry,” Terry said. “The new UGASports, featuring The DawgVent, brings together every available resource and immediately becomes one of the three largest fan-site communities in the industry—across all networks and independent sites.”
UGASports has been the top Georgia fan site since 1997, a success that came primarily from its legendary message board community. The DawgVent is the heart of UGASports and has served as the pulse of the Georgia fanbase. It is one of the most active boards in all of college football. Bringing in three nationally renowned reporters will only strengthen the board.
DawgsHQ burst onto the Georgia scene five years ago and has been one of the fastest-growing sites in the On3 network. Mansell, Rowe, and Johnson made DawgsHQ a daily must-read for all Georgia fans. They built a scoop-and-analysis juggernaut from scratch, a feat that is almost impossible in this era of aggregation news sites
Now the two best sources for Georgia team and recruiting news have been combined into one staff. Convenience for our readers was one of the top factors in the merger. Yet it was not the only one. The main reasons were scoop and potential.
Many times UGASports staffers had half a story and needed additional confirmation. DawgsHQ was often in the same boat. Combined, the new staff can use its network of sources to bring UGASports subscribers the most insider news, scoop, and analysis.
UGASports can also now focus on new content. No longer will both sites need to write a game story or a commitment story. Pooling resources will allow UGASports to provide unique content that neither site had the manpower for in the past.
Our YouTube shows will be expanded as well. Stay tuned for more on that front.

Rusty Mansell – Senior Insider
Rusty has covered Georgia football for roughly 17 years as both a recruiting and team insider. He is the recruiting insider for Fox 5 Atlanta and a co-host on 92.9 The Game’s “The Steakhouse” in Atlanta. He is also the co-chairman of the Georgia High School Sports Hall of Fame.
Anthony Dasher – Managing Editor
Anthony is in his 40th year as a sportswriter, including 30 years covering Georgia athletics. He’s been with UGASports since 2007. His career also includes stops at the Valdosta Daily Times, The Savannah News-Press, The Statesboro Herald, and The Athens Banner-Herald. He’s a regular contributor to Lindy’s national College Football magazine previewing the Bulldogs.
Jake Rowe – Senior Writer
Jake has covered Georgia football since 2011, with a focus on football team coverage since 2015. He has held a Heisman Trophy vote for the past four years and has contributed to Lindy’s and Athlon national College Football magazines.
Jed May – Team and Recruiting Writer
Jed is entering his 11th season covering Georgia football, having also covered the Bulldogs for The Red & Black and the Macon Telegraph. He is in his sixth year covering Georgia recruiting for UGASports.com. Jed is a 2015 graduate of Madison County High School and a 2019 graduate of the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Jeremy Johnson – Team and Recruiting Writer
Jeremy has over 10 years of experience covering sports. After graduating from Georgia State University, He spent the first five years of his career at The Oconee Enterprise, where he began as a sports reporter before taking over as the sports editor. He departed the Oconee Enterprise for The Athens Banner Herald before joining On3 as a national recruiting reporter. Johnson has been at On3 since 2021 and spent time with On3’s Clemson site and DawgsHQ covering recruiting and the teams.
