at a trade deadline and we did what AA did today for the Braves...which was almost nothing.
It was like going to a baseball card show and not buying or trading anything except some Pokémon cards to a 5 yo girl in the parking lot. Meanwhile, 7-8 teams that we will have to get through all got better.

strong rumors AA had a deal with the Rangers to get former Cy Young winner Jacob deGroom but he invoked his not trade clause. deGroom is from that area.

Degromm or however you spell it squashed the big splash..
But honestly, who is going to compete with the $$$ The Dodgers throw around..just gotta have our bats hot if we meet them in the postseason..

I'm not really worried about it. With our luck, if he had brought in a flashy arm, they'd have gotten hurt in their third appearance as a Brave.
Anyway, AA gets so much shit every year, and with the exception of last season, he has managed to put together a servicable roster that has us excited to watch most of the year. Are we benefitting from being in a shit division? Probably, but if they keep playing hard, they can be just as good as anyone out there. Can't do anything about these teams that want to buy a world series. We'll see if it works out for them. Only one of them will succeed. MLB has a bunch of new contract rules that are being proposed for the new CBA. Probably going to lead to a lockout for most of next season, so get the baseball while you can enjoy it.
