Kevin and Drew Butler were the featured speakers. Both were very good. Jeff Sentell also spoke and was his usual upbeat Disney Dawg self. Jeff and Kevin both said Kirby is super chill this year and that usually means he is pretty confident in the team. Everyone was high on Gunner. They said he reminds them of 2021 Stetson and the team really loves playing with him as qb. They made some not so veiled comments about a "former qb" that the team wasn't so crazy about. They described the team attitude when the former qb ran onto the field as "seeing a dentist coming into the huddle".
DL is biggest question mark on that side of the ball, very talented but very inexperienced. DBs might be the best group at that position in a long time. LBs should be as good a group as the 2021 group. We'll see.
On O, WRs will be the most talented group in many years and TEs are an embarrassment of riches. Biggest problem for Hartley is getting enough playing time for the TEs so they don't leave. RB should be fine. Frazier has been working on ball security and has great moves. Chauncey Bowen is a player to watch, 5' 11" 225 lbs, runs a 10.8 100. Also said Bo Walker is a beast, 5' 8" 215 lbs, hard to see behind the line and hits the hole hard with good speed. The described Walker as a "Kirby kid", meaning he was a three star that Kirby liked and wanted so he is probably one to watch. No comments on the OL. I don't know if that is a bad omen.
Theron Sapp was there too. He is 90 but looks pretty good for a big guy who is 90. I talked to him a little bit and he is still pretty sharp. Kevin Butler was really impressed with Theron being there. He made sure to let everyone know that there are only four retired jerseys at Georgia and Theron's is one of them. There were quite a few other older lettermen there too.
The crowd was much bigger than it has been recently. I did notice the age of the crowd is getting pretty advanced. There were lots of canes, limps and grey hair. The local club is trying to get younger people to come but I don't think young people really care much about going to events like that.

I've heard from more than one person that Beck was pretty universally disliked on the team.
A few things about Gunner from Sentell:
His 1984 F150 has something like 400,000 miles on it.
For Christmas, he got cows as gifts, he is really into raising cows.
He and his buddies in HS all got CB radios to talk to each other with instead of using cell phones.
It seems like the only thing missing is Gunner being from South Georgia.

much like S lumps wife, thanks for sharing.
This team will go far if the OL can block and D front 7 can stop the run and get an above average pass rush

I had to bite my tongue. From what they said, Bobo has all the talent he needs. Unless there is a rash of injuries, if Bobo shits the bed this year, he has no excuses.

Bobo led the SEC in offense with Hutson Mason at QB...Last year his offense was out of sink but not out of suck. No XWR hurt big time. Humphries only filled that void against the ACC teams on our schedule. The injury carousel on the OL hurt as well. Beck couldn't get comfortable with the OL or WRs. Frazier's fumbling problem killed some drives as well.

Like I said, right now, Bobo has all the pieces to put a very good offense on the field. Last season there were a lot of issues that don't seem to be there this year.
Who knows? Maybe all the talk last night was nothing more than Bulldog Club happy talk. I've never been to a meeting where the speaker, whoever it was, said "yeah, we're really going to struggle this year".

Stetquavius should be the next jersey retired. Not sure why it hasn’t been already.

Georgia doesn't do that, but he should definitely go into the Ring of Honor post haste.
Followed by Bowers, McConkey, and a few of those defensive guys.

You say they don’t do it, but they’ve done it four times.
