I wasn't saved until I was 30 years old.  This was definitely in my pre-Baptist days.

Yes I remember-you know I was just razzing you! Thanks for sharing the pic, I never got to see a room in Oglethorpe- looks much bigger than my room on the top floor of Russell in ‘67.

The rooms in Russell seemed to be set up to condition us to serve time in a prison cell.

Russell opened in fall '67 and seemed like paradise compared to the prison cell like room we had at Middle Ga College in Cochran... My best friend's parents convinced my parents in '65 that MGC (2 yr Jr college back then) was the best place for us to start college at the ramp up of the Vietnam draft...less chance of flunking out, smaller classes, etc., etc. then we could transfer to Yech or UGA...problem was, MGC had not prepared well for the baby boom (except for state funding for 2 new small girls dorms recently completed) and even though we were assigned to the newest male dorm (Talmage Hall built in the early '50s) the rooms were only about 1/2 the size of Russell and were designed for 2 ppl, so their solution was to put double bunks into the rooms!!

Funny story - summer of '67 my summer job was at the Southern Cross factory on Hunter St. (now MLK) in Atlanta.  The plant had a contract to produce  college dorm room fold down beds and wall mounted bookcases above the beds with orange vinyl material over padding for the bookcase "door"...both cheaply made with chip board...so imagine my surprise when I walked into Russell for the first time and saw them installed in every room!
