#1
Day 1 - 2"x12" stringer bolted to house with 2 ply 2"x12" frame of deck built with temporary supports
(I forgot to take a picture)

Day 2 - 10 Deck  6"x6"posts being installed. (My son and his friend obscured by a post are building the deck)
The sliding glass door seen behind them being replaced by French Doors and gutters being installed are the next 2 projects.

Day 3 - 2'x10 joists and about 3/4 of the decking completed ( top photo)

Day 4 - Today. Bryan pouring the concrete footing where the base of the ramp going towards the front of the house by the herb garden will go and a second concrete footing where the steps will go down into back yard.

Looking good. I remember my days of building projects. Back in the early 19809's, I was stationed in Jacksonville, Fl. Met this fella by the name of Gary Lucas from Maine. He and I became good friends and he was a very skilled carpenter. We took on many afternoon and weekend projects just like this one in your pictures. Gary and I parted ways due to military orders/transfers. Years later, he shows up on FB to say hello. He's just retired from his job as owner of a home building company in Mass. He sent me some pictures and wow!...he has built some beautiful homes and additions up there over these many years. He has a son and daughter and they are both doing well. Sorry for the rant...but your pictures brought me to this. Thanks!

Glad you used 6x6 posts. 4x4s are shameful. Looks great.
