I'm going to a conference in Toronto... The price for rooms is on their site in US Dollars but the confirmation is only shown in CAD, which is much higher.. Is this normal ?

Insider tip…go to the Brass Rail and hang out upstairs. And, take more toonies than loonies. Enjoy. You’re welcome.

CAD are worth less than USD so the exchange rate makes the number of CADs go up to equal the USDs.

So, if you're paying in USD shouldn't the price be lower ? They are wanting me to pay the CAD price in USD... doesn't make sense to me, however I am a little slow nowadays...

The current exchange rate is 1.38 CAD to the USD, so a $100 USD charge should be $138 CAD.  $100 CAD should be around $73 USD.

You may be able to change the monetary denomination to USD at the top of the page before you start a reservation.  If not, look at a different website.  If you pay in CAD, your credit card may charge you an exchange fee.  some cards waive it.
