Yes,, it's summer and, it's hot but, the humidity is crazy high right now. Trying to cut 3 acres of lawn but, I'm going to have to split it up with plenty of water breaks in between.  Sad

It's summer in the South. I remember not having AC as a kid; we are spoiled now.

I have about 30 minutes worth of grass in back yard around thankfully a pool...I use a walk behind mower here...the front, I have a rider for that...I never find myself getting hot on the rider...

Jumping into the pool after cutting in the backyard makes it almost worth it.

I remember our first house with central AC....before that, my Dad had a little den downstairs with a window unit...he kept that room closed off and cool.

Attic fans were big back in the day too....worked better than nothing for sure.
Cool

I too remember my youth where we had zero AC, all the way through high school. We got our first window AC for our home when I was in jr. high school. That was around 1970. So yes, I remember well.

We had an attic fan. I had a pool back in the 90's but no more. We have talked about getting a pool out here but the minimum starting price is about 60-70k. Then, I'd want to do a nice deck/patio with an outdoor kitchen/bar. Yeah...not gonna happen.  Rolleyes

Yessir!! No A/C when I was a boy. Thought we were "uptown" when we got an attic fan!! You know what else??? We didn't get sick near as much back then, either!!!

Grandmother's house had no A/C at all and my mother would banish us to her house for a week or so in the Summer when my mother had had all of us she could stand. Grandmother's house had an attic fan (that thing sounded like a 707 engine when it was running) and some other fans throughout the house. The first night or two was uncomfortable but we adjusted pretty quickly. By the time we went back home we didn't notice the lack of A/C.
