I had a friend die from that type of dementia. less than 8 months from diagnosis to death.

Despise Ted's politics, but like his Classic Movie Channel.  Wouldn't wish that disease on anyone.

Your friend might have been lucky.  I'm not sure I'd want to linger for a long time with that.

I saw Ted speak when I was at Georgia.  He was a great speaker, very entertaining and seemed to be a pretty good guy.  I think he is/was like a lot of people who grow up with money and inherit a profitable business without having to really work for it.  I do admire him for taking the business his father left him and growing it into the media empire he did but he didn't exactly start at ground zero.  He hit on cable tv early and his vision was proven correct.
