HOOVER, Ala. ----- No. 3 Georgia (42-14, 18-12 SEC) will be the fifth seed in the SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Ala., and play its opening game on Wednesday now at 5:30 pm ET against Oklahoma (34-19). The game will be televised on the SEC Network and available on the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network. The 12th-seeded Sooners beat Kentucky 5-1 in the first round Tuesday to advance. The winner of the Georgia/OU game would face ninth-ranked and No. 4 seed Vanderbilt (39-16) Thursday night. Georgia claimed a series over the Sooners in late April, winning two games to one at Foley Field.

ATHENS, Ga.-----Slate Alford, Robbie Burnett, Brian Curley and Ryland Zaborowski earned All-Southeastern Conference honors in a vote of the league's baseball coaches, the SEC announced Monday. Alford made the All-SEC first team at third base while Burnett (outfielder), Curley (pitcher) and Zaborowski (designated hitter/utility) were second team selections.

CARLSBAD, Cal. - The No. 22-ranked Bulldogs are out at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., this week for the NCAA Championships. Georgia coach Chris Haack said this year's team was a mix of veterans and newcomers, with some of the veteran collegiate players new to the postseason. It's a group that has progressed throughout the season, winning the Linger Longer Invitational in March, placing fourth at The Ford Collegiate, and then advancing to the match play portion of the SEC Championship before taking care of business at the Tallahassee Regional. The Bulldogs tee off in the NCAA Championships on Friday, the first of three days of stroke play on the North course. After the first three rounds, the top 15 teams will have a final day of stroke play before the final eight move on to match play.
