Nice work, boss!

But to win ten this season with all the inexperienced, no fire, injured millionaires on the squad, Kiry will have to play 20 games.

Interesting.  Makes the little whiners that say DAWGS aren’t winning enough lately look a little silly.

One question though.  What year did college football go from 10 to 12 regular season games?

Getting to 10 got just a little easier when that happened.

I think going to 12 games helped the traditional top 25 type teams.  Adding another gimme win each season made getting to 10 wins easier than having to win 9 of 11 and a bowl game to get to 10.  It also helped the lower tier teams (their coaches in particular) to have better looking records.  That extra cupcake game has put a lot of teams in bowls that would have had long bowl droughts without that 12th game.

10-2 in the SEC might be the standard now for getting into the playoff. I doubt we see any undefeated teams again.

That’s my thinking also..the talent is more spread out IMHO..plus the SEC is deeper than it was with 10-12 teams..

With 16 teams, 10-2 and being in the SECCG, win or lose, will probably be a lock for getting into the playoff.  10-2 and not making the SECCG because of a close head to head loss will probably still get an SEC team into the playoff.

I can see an undefeated team happening again, depending on the schedule.
