power an hour or so ago. We are in Lenoir, N.C. We "only" got 10/11 inches of rain here.....but, trees down everywhere.....many lower places washed out. A number of friends in Chimney Rock.....the whole town washed away. Places up here we've gone to for decades....gone. Morganton without power or water. Hugo was bad....but this........ Did God get confused? Aren't hurricanes supposed to do the damage on the coast. Weird....the high foothills and mountains of North Carolina really go hit the worst on this one. For the ages......... Hot water heater in the basement got flooded and is probably gone....other than that....we are okay............

Glad y’all are OK. Hang in there! Gonna be a looong haul for those poor folks in the Mtn. areas, just hate it for them.

I'm glad you guys are well and with power now. We have family up there in Boone and Linville area. They seem to be OK. We (extended family included) haven't heard from one family member yet; praying he's OK. My wife's aunt is headed up there from Hickory today with suppiles that we all contributed to.
Prayers and fingers crossed here.

Also, we have been told that they (people up there) really need Advil / Ibuprofen. The flood has washed out all of the yellow jackets nests (It's that time of year) and people are getting stung left and right.
