BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Infielder Gabi Novickas was tabbed as the Southeastern conference's freshman of the week for her performances last weekend in the series against No. 8/6 Florida. Novickas was active offensively and defensively all weekend in Georgia's series win over the No. 8/6 Gators. After tallying a hit in the series opener, Novickas was a perfect 3-3 at the plate with a run and two RBI in the game two, walk-off win. She sparked the Bulldog comeback driving in the first run of the fifth inning that saw Georgia climb from down 2-7 to up 9-7. In the rubber match, Novickas blasted her second grand slam of the season to clinch the walk-off, run-rule win over the Gators, 9-1. Defensively, Novickas recorded a co-team-high 13 put-outs and fielded one double play with a perfect fielding percentage. She remains the only freshman SEC first baseman to start every conference game, as well as one of five conference first basemen with a 1.000 fielding percentage. Georgia will travel this week to Lexington, Kentucky for the 2026 SEC Softball Tournament at the John Cropp Stadium. The Bulldogs begin play in the second round as the No. 9 seed against the eighth-seeded LSU Tigers on Wednesday night at approximately 8:00 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.

ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia sophomore outfielder Henry Allen will miss the remainder of the 2026 baseball season due to a right knee injury. Allen, a 6-4, 210-pound native of Auburn, Ala., injured his knee running to first base during this past Friday's win over Missouri. The fifth-ranked Bulldogs are 38-11 overall and lead the Southeastern Conference with an 18-6 mark. Georgia plays host to LSU in an SEC series starting Friday at 6 p.m.

NEW ORLEANS – Georgia track and field's Jonathan Simms named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) men's national athlete of the week following a historic performance at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial. Simms, a native of McKinney, Texas, recorded a historic performance this weekend on his home track in the 400 meter. The freshman went stride-for-stride with reigning 2025 NCAA outdoor champion Samuel Ogazi of Alabama, with the race decided by just 0.005 of a second. Simm's 44.02 mark stands as the 2026 current world lead, ranks No. 2 on the U20 world list, No. 6 on the all-time collegiate list and No. 17 all-time among American performers. Additionally, Simm's 44.02 finish stands as the fastest combined finish in collegiate history by a freshman within the collegiate season. The Bulldogs will now take the week off to prepare to defend their 2025 outdoor conference title at the 2026 SEC Outdoor Championships hosted by Auburn this year at Hutsell-Rosen Track on May 14-16. 

ATHENS, Ga. - One of the biggest feel-good wins of this Georgia women's tennis season happened Saturday afternoon on court 5 at Henry Feild Stadium. In a lopsided NCAA tournament first-round match against Alabama State, senior Alexandra Vecic, playing her first match since Feb. 1, 2025, delivered the clinching win in the top-seeded Bulldogs' 4-0 victory. She was ranked as high as No. 25 in the country in singles, and her future looked very bright. But then came an agravation to a wrist injury during a pro tournament in Macon, Ga., in October 2024. She's been recovering all this time and the coaches figured out as last week went on that there was a chance Vecic would be able to play against Alabama State. That Vecic did, and she did so with her mother, Biljana, in town from Germany, and her father, Srdjan, watching online back home.
