It should be clear, even to the Nyquil cult, that this is about philosophy.

Lao Tzu: Sometimes the Best Action Is Inaction

The Tao Te Ching's central theme is an exploration of the 'Dao', or the 'way', the path to virtue, happiness, and harmony. This way isn't inherently confusing, Lao Tzu claimed, 'the great Dao is very even, but people like to take byways.' Western culture is obsessed with doing. Productivity, achievement, hustle culture - it's relentless.

Lao Tzu offers the opposite: wu wei, or effortless action. Lao Tzu said, 'The best people are like water, which benefits all things and does not compete with them. It stays in lowly places that others reject.

This is why it is so similar to the Way (Dao).' Water doesn't force its way through rock - it flows around obstacles, patiently wearing them down over time.

Think about problems you've solved not by attacking them head-on but by stepping back and letting things unfold naturally. 'To the mind that is still,' Lao Tzu said, 'the whole universe surrenders.' We need to let go of our schedules, our worries, and our complex thoughts and simply open ourselves to raw experience.

Sometimes the wisest move is knowing when not to move at all.

Oh, Piggy.

You ever used the Pomodoro Technique?  It's a time management method which is very effective for individuals who are neurodivergent like you.

It has been very effective for my students on the spectrum.

Your bipolar disorder, Tourette syndrome, and synesthesia will one day get you in deep trouble in that Glory Hole you man down your mountain a few feet.

Heckfire, you have one foot on the launch pad and one on a banana peel around here. [Image: cartoon-businessman-slipping-banana-peel...942806.jpg]
