There were a couple of other celebrations and celebrants present within the main event.  First, it was also the 1st BD of her Great Great GD, born on the same day 99 years later.  Second, it was the 4th Wedding Anniversary of her Great Grandson and his wife.  The Great Grandson is a Naval Officer and remote drone pilot.  5 generations of the family were present at the celebration.  Pretty significant day in their family.

My great grandmother, that died in the late 80’s, was born in the late 1800’s. I don’t know that there is, or ever has been, a generation that has seen the change in life that her’s did. From horse and buggy to TV to cars to moon landing to computers and the earliest cell phones. It is really amazing to think what she witnessed. I’m fortunate that I’ve known well into my life, or at least enough to remember them and being around them, all of my grandparents as well as two great grandmothers and two great aunts. I’m 50 and had both grandmothers until the past 10 years.
